Restoring Sight.
Restoring Hope.

Our Story

It began as a simple conversation between friends. For years, we considered how to best use our resources and skills in a joint venture with a shared purpose. Inspired by our travel experiences, opportunities and connections through our employment, and because of organizations such as charity:water and TOMS, we continued to circle back to the idea of a non-profit that would focus on the restoration of sight. Shared Vision International began to take form in 2010, and while the details and locations may shift, our mission remains the same.

Through collaboration and the development of lasting relationships, we work to provide communities with sustainable eye care solutions. We fund and organize vision care trips, bringing doctors, equipment, and resources to regions in need. We envision a future where everyone has the opportunity to see clearly, live fully, and thrive.

Our Mission

Our mission is to bring essential vision care to those who need it most, fostering meaningful relationships built on trust and compassion.

By restoring sight, we aim to restore hope, empowering individuals to see the world clearly and live life fully.

Dr. Jim Devine

“There is something profound about witnessing this.”

“People will wait for hours, sometimes all night, just to get the help they need to read or sew. There is something profound about witnessing this. It is a gift and an honor to help in some small way.”

Our Team

The Shared Vision team is made up of individuals who volunteer their time, money and expertise to help bring restoration of sight to people without access to vision care. While board members oversee the plans and management of shared vision, teams of volunteers join us each year to help facilitate vision clinics abroad.
