Shared Vision is committed to bringing quality vision care to areas around the world that need it the most while prioritizing compassion, partnership, and the sharing of resources. Our goal is to increase access and promote sustainability in the communities we visit, reducing the overall growing number of people with vision impairment.
One billion people with vision impairment or blindness remain untreated - impacting quality of life, employment, and daily tasks.
Young children with early onset severe vision impairment can experience delayed motor, language, emotional, social and cognitive development with lifelong consequences.
As the world’s population grows and ages, global blindness and visual impairment are expected to triple over the next 30 years.
